A beginner sewing course – bring your own sewing machine (or borrow one of mine) and learn how to set it up, wind a new bobbin, check the thread tension, straight stitch and then hand sew or applique decorations. On this course you will make a length of double sided bunting with around 16 pennants.
Courses are run on Wednesdays and Sundays either run during the day from 10am to 2pm or in the evening from 6:30pm to 10:30pm. Only 2 spaces are available per session to ensure that everyone gets the attention they need and comes away happy that they can continue to sew independently.
To allow for personal preference, you will need to bring with you;
- at least 1m of cotton fabric
- 3m of webbing or bias binding to complement (or contrast) your fabric
- a reel of thread
I am happy to recommend places to get your supplies should you need help. Minerva Crafts is a great online place to start though.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are all included though.
The courses are run in the town of Westerham, Kent. It is easily accessed by road and has good public transport links. Please get in contact if you need further help in getting to us.
